About Us
In the summer of 2023, we (Kate Shanahan & Matthew Lepahe) decided to build a platform for accountants and their clients. With small business ingrained in our families, we know how hard it is to run one, and we’ve seen firsthand how valuable a great accountant’s support can be.
But when we looked for software to help accountants advise business owners, we mostly found reporting tools. Business is about people, and accountants deserve a people-first platform dedicated to helping them help their clients. That’s what we’re building.

Our users always come first.
From day one, we've built alongside our users. They help shape our product and are the reason we build what we build. Customer support is always our priority, and while this personalised approach may come at the cost of faster revenue growth, Brieff wouldn't mean anything without our community.
We’re small and we move fast.
As a team of two, our best advantage is enthusiasm, agility, and speed of execution. We ship fast, without breaking things. Our focus on fast feedback loops and a deep understanding of advisory enable us to run a healthy, purpose-driven business, while keeping the team small. We’re a small fish in the accounting-tech pond, but our product, infrastructure, and security measures are industry-grade.
Technology is always about people.
Our view is that technology is always about the people it impacts. There's plenty of new accounting tech that'll reconcile transactions - that's not us. We use the latest technology to help accountants and their clients have more impactful conversations, deeper relationships, and reach more of their goals.
